The Mastersingers

In January this year I was approached by a member of ‘The Mastersingers’ to see if I would like to be there newest member. As I have followed this very well established and respected group for a while now, I leapt at the chance to join them. Our first session was last week and I am really excited for whats to come with ‘The Mastersingers’. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the group as they have made me feel extremely welcome.

Joseph Hartwell Jones is a graduate from Leeds College of Music studying Music Production. His new website is up and running which you can visit at;

Joseph has worked with Paul Epworth and helped produce part of The Klaxons Album ‘Myths Of The Near Future’ in 2007 as part of a summer project whilst living in London.

BBC Radio 2 Young Chorister of the Year 2009 - Finalist

I am extremely happy to announce that one of my pupils has reached the final of Radio 2’s Young Chorister of the year 2009. She will be going to London on the 23rd October to perform at St Paul’s Cathedral. This will be broadcast on the 1st November.
It is an amazing achievement for her and I am very proud!

Royal Northern College of Music - Joseph Buckmaster

I am extremely pleased to congratulate one of my pupils Joseph Buckmaster who has been given an unconditional offer to study singing at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester next September. For the audition he sang; ‘The Infinite Shining Heaven’ from the Songs of Travel by Ralph Vaughan Williams and ‘Widmung’ from Schumann’s Liederkreis op.24.

On Friday, 7 November I was mentioned in the Chester Standard for the achievements of my pupils at Abbey Gate College, here is the Article;

PUPILS MAKE RIGHT NOISE
Five pupils of Abbey Gate College at Saighton, have all gained distinctions in their Trinity Guildhall Grade 8 singing exams.
They were among 15 other singing pupils of teacher Edward Hartwell Jones who also had successes in exams ranging from grades 2 to 8.
